French-speaking cams

French is spoken far beyond France: in Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Quebec, much of West and Central Africa, and on islands in the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean. Any performer who declares it on the platform lands here, whatever country they name, which spreads the language across a wide sweep of longitude.

Quebec keeps Eastern Time, well behind Paris, so a late evening in Montreal arrives in the small hours of a European night. Dakar and Abidjan sit on UTC all year. The chart folds every one of those evenings into a single curve.

A declared language is a statement by the performer, not a test result. A room may run in French and English at once, and accents vary as widely as the map suggests.

For the country rather than the language, France narrows the list to performers who declare it, overseas departments included. On a performer's page, the country line is the quickest way to tell whether a regular keeps European, African or North American hours.
